Anne Fine: Children's Laureate 2001-2003

When Anne was Children's Laureate, she launched a unique project to encourage children across the UK to make their own library and get reading. And how do you prove it's your books in your library? By sticking book plates in them, that's how! So here are some book plates that you can print out for yourself or email to your friends together with a message.

First choose your book plate ...

Start by choosing a book plate. To see a full-sized image of any book plate, which you can print out, just click on the small picture. (To print, just click the printer icon at the top of the window. If you can't see a printer icon, try clicking the arrow » near the top right-hand corner of the screen.)

If you want to send a book plate to a friend, you have to answer a few questions: first use the "radio button" selector, by clicking in the circle below the book plate you want to send.

Next, address your book plate...

Fill in your name, and the name of the friend you are sending the book plate to, as you want them to appear; and please check that both e-mail addresses are correct.

Don't forget to sign your message...

Use the box below to specify how you would like your signature to appear: remember, you have already put your name on the message when you addressed it, so you don't have to use your full name here unless you want to!

You are now ready to preview your book plate and message: To do so, just click on the "PREVIEW" button below. If you want to clear the form and start again, click on "START AGAIN" instead. Your book plate will not be sent until you press the "SEND BOOK PLATE" button on the preview screen.
